Reactive environmental Storytelling - Horror

I developed this walking simulator prototype with horror aspects as part of my bachelor thesis entitled:

The Interaction of Narration and Player Decisions, An Investigation of Reactive Environmental Storytelling in Video Games
(OG: Die Wechselwirkung von Narration und Spielerentscheidungen, Eine Untersuchung des reaktiven Environmental Storytelling in Videospielen).

Depending on when and how often a player strays from the path, the environment of the level reacts and tells a customized story with its experiences. The prototype and its systems were - apart from some external assets - completely developed and implemented by me without external help.

Empathy

Empathy is an immersive puzzle-adventure game that invites players into the thought-provoking journey of a unique robot, Empathy.

As players navigate various levels, they explore profound questions and dilemmas.
The game unfolds as Empathy grapples with self-discovery, societal norms, resilience, and the essence of existence.

Additionally the player controls small compost ducks, which are basically bombs, that help the protagonist to eject the robot enemies.

Test a mech whose most powerful weapon is its own body.

Tackle some good old obstacles
